Accessing the care you need

There are many ways to book an appointment with us. 

How to request an urgent appointment :

Please call reception between 8am and 6.30pm to request a same day telephone call back with a doctor .

A doctor will call you back to discuss your problem over the telephone .The doctor can also arrange an appointment for you to be seen in the Practice at a mutually convenient time, if needed.

Patients can come into the surgery to book or change appointments with the nursing team.

Please note that we do not offer a walk in emergency service .

The on call doctor will assess unwell patients during their surgery on the basis of clinical priority.

Booking a routine appointment

Appointments are available Monday to Friday .

GPs are available to speak to you by phone and then in person by mutual arrangement.

Practice Nurses and Healthcare Assistants are available at prearranged times in the Practice.

Please send in a PATCH request (reception can send you a link to set this up).This will be triaged to the most appropriate person in our team and responded to within 48 hours. This is often the most efficient way to receive help for administrative and non-urgent medical queries. It may result in a telephone call being set up for you with a doctor /pharmacist/ nurse/ admin team member .

For all other clinicians, please call reception and we can arrange an appointment for you.

Manage your health online

Use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App) to book an appointment in advance.

Visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist, Monday to Friday from 8.00am to 6:30pm. When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with. 

We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable health professional to help you.

  • face to face at the surgery

Appointments by phone, by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.

To cancel your appointment :

If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

You can book an evening or weekend appointment in one of our Enhanced Access Hubs. Contact us online or via telephone to make an appointment.

Whenever possible we ask you to come to the surgery for appointments as we have full access to your records and to treatment facilities. You can usually be seen sooner if you can come to the surgery as we can see three or four patients in the surgery in the time it takes to do one home visit.

If you are too unwell to come in please try to phone before 11:00am. If you are unsure whether you need a visit, reception can arrange for you to get advice from one of the doctors. If the doctor feels your problem would be appropriately dealt with in the surgery then you will be offered an appointment and the home visit request declined.

Please note that the timing of a visit cannot be guaranteed.

Patients contacting us with acute medical needs can now be referred to five Additional Access hubs. It means that the patient will have a face-to-face appointment on the same or next day (depending on booking time).

Appointments will be triaged by our team based on need via the usual methods for booking an appointment. You do not have to accept an appointment at one of the Additional Access hubs.
